Rainy Day Fun
IN DUBLIN’S GREAT OUTDOORS
It is often said that visitors don’t come to Ireland for the weather, and whilst that may be true, sometimes you just want to come in from the Great Outdoors. And do you know, that’s ok. That is why we have a selection of Rainy Day Activities across the County that will cater for everyone’s desires.
For the young people there’s The Chocolate Warehouse on the Greenhills Road where you can see how chocolate is made. The real fun part is the ‘hands on’ session where visitors get to cover, decorate and package chocolates to take home. You can tire the little ones out with an hour or more at a play centre such as Pirates Cove in Liffey Valley, Tallaght Adventure World, or Kids Town in Rathcoole. Rua Red, South Dublin’s Art Centre in Tallaght, host Art Trolley drop in classes for Children aged 3 – 10yrs with a parent, where you can explore the galleries, be creative and have fun with your imagination.
And we haven’t forgotten activity for the Teen or Adult as they could try their hand at the Dublin Climbing Centre in Tallaght or get a STRIKE at bowling at Tallaght’s Leisureplex or SuperDome in Palmerstown. And why not take a dip in the swimming pools in either Tallaght or Clondalkin Leisure Centres.
Back to dry land and you could catch the latest blockbuster movies at the area’s two multiscreen complexes, VUE in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre or the IMC Cinemas in The Square, Tallaght. See if you can’t get a Movie and Meal Deal too – some of the local restaurants and hotels offer this. Or why not catch a show at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght or take in an event at Arás Chrónáin, the Irish Cultural Centre, in Clondalkin. And of course, there’s shopping; From the local villages and neighbourhood retails centres to the two regional shopping centres, The Square, Tallaght and Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, you will definitely find many ways in which to to spend your time…and money.
